Product Description:
The MSS182A-0100-FR-N0CN-NNNN is part of Bosch Rexroth Indramat's MSS Synchronous IndraDyn H Motors series. This liquid-cooled stator module is intended for direct integration into machine frames where high continuous torque and compact size are required. When paired with a matching rotor, the unit supplies precise synchronous motion for packaging, printing, or metal-forming axes in industrial automation. Because it is supplied as a stator module, the surrounding machine structure provides the housing, alignment, and support for the rotating assembly. This arrangement is useful where installation space is limited and a conventional motor housing would add unnecessary bulk.
The electromagnetic system imposes an axial attractive force of 360 N and a radial pull of 214 N, so the support structure must absorb both loads during operation. These magnetic loads act whenever the rotor is energized, which makes rigid mounting important for stable air-gap alignment. Coolant enters through an axial port with a G 1/8 thread, while a same-size radial port allows more flexible hose routing when space is limited. Circuit pressure must remain below 6 bar, and the internal channels create only 0.36 bar of pressure drop at the required flow rate. The low pressure drop reduces demand on the cooling circuit and helps maintain steady coolant circulation. A separate M16 × 1 axial mount thread helps center the stator on the machine bed, while six fixing holes on each face, tapped M6 to 12 mm depth, secure the unit against torsion. A matching ground connection uses the same M6 depth for a straightforward electrical bond.
Continuous operation requires a coolant flow of 3.0 L/min to keep winding temperatures within limits. Without coolant, the open-frame IP00 design depends on airflow from the surrounding enclosure rather than a sealed housing. The stator can operate in ambient temperatures from 0 °C to 40 °C, and it can be used at elevations up to 1,000 m above sea level. The open construction also means the machine must provide guarding against accidental contact with energized or moving parts. Both flow ports use the same thread size, which allows the cooling connections to be arranged to suit the available mounting space and nearby structural components.
