The MKE118D-027-BG3-KE4 is a synchronous servo motor design by the Rexroth Indramat for industrial production systems. This motor has a housing designed according to the ATEX standard thus it is suited for use in hazardous and explosive environments, the motor is also resistant to water and dust ingression. The MKE118D-027-BG3-KE4 servo motor has a compacted, portable well-insulated body with holes for ventilation, also the insulation class of the motor is according to DIN EN 60034-1 thus it is resistany to heat outflux due to operation and friction in the bearings.

The MKE118D-027-BG3-KE4 is a high dynamics servo motor, which coupled with a drive control of specific power, provides highly precise movements and controlled speed for diverse industrial machines. Its windings have an inductivity of 5.70 milli-Henry, to store current as magnetic energy in case of high current inputs.  It also has a very small inertial moment that ensures highly precise start-stop operation with holding torque of 70 newton-meter. It makes use of the optical encoder, this encoder transmits positional values and generates a fast feedback thus allowing the controller to quckly dectect and correct any error in the operational status of the motor.

The MKE118D-027-BG3-KE4 industrial servo motor is maintenance-free because it uses an electronic commutator instead of a brush, this prevents the internal generation of dust due to wearing off the brushes. Also, it uses grease-lubricated bearings, which prevent wear of the bearings for a lifetime of 30000 hours.
