The MKE118D-012-BP0-KE0 is servo motor designed for use in hazardous location. The motor housing design complies with ATEX standard and has IP65 protection rating. It is part of MKE series from Bosch Rexroth. The frame size is 118 millimeters, the frame length code is D and the motor winding code is 012. The MKE118D-012-BP0-KE0 does not come with a holding brake. Bosch does provide holding brakes as an option for MKE motors. The function of the holding brake is to hold the axis when the motor is de-energized. Holding brakes can only be used during normal operation, in standstill and at emergency stop to deactivate a motor axis. A terminal box located on the top of the motor houses the electrical connection. An optical encoder with EnDat 2.1 interface provides motor position and speed feedback to the drive controller.

The motor shaft on the MKE118D-012-BP0-KE0 has both a keyway and a sealing ring. The shaft with keyway permits the form-fitting transmission of torques with constant direction, with low requirements for the shaft-hub connection.
