The KL4494 bus terminal by Beckhoff digitizes voltage signals with a 12 bit resolution. It handles signals ranging from - 10 V to + 10 V. The analog input channels are single ended and have an internal resistance of over 130 kΩ. The analog output channels support loads greater than 5 kΩ. The device provides electrical isolation between the signal voltage and K-bus rated at 500 V. The conversion time is under 2 milliseconds that ensures rapid data processing. Input data is transferred as 2 data words and 2 status bytes. Output data is structured with 2 data words and 2 control bytes. Power for the model is supplied through the K-bus. The terminal typically consumes 70 mA from the K-bus. The device maintains a measuring error within ± 0.3 % of the full scale value. All channels of the model share a common ground potential that is electrically separated from the 0 V power contact. RUN LEDs indicate the current status of data communication with the Bus Coupler.
