EtherCAT Coupler or the Beckhoff EK1512-0010 is an important part of the industrial communication network, which provides high speed and real-time medium of communication using EtherCAT protocol.

EtherCAT star topologies are supported by the device and the network setups are very flexible. The EK1512-0010 is powered by the EtherCAT Ebus and consumes 350 mA typically which minimizes the use of external power sources and helps keep system architecture simple.
