Product Description:
The AX8206-0100-0000 is a dual-channel digital servo drive from Beckhoff's AX Digital Servo Drives series. It controls synchronous and induction servo motors by regulating current, speed, and position loops in automated machinery. The power stage, fieldbus interface, and safety circuits sit in a slim housing, saving panel space while keeping axis performance stable. In assembly lines or material-handling cells, the drive delivers three-phase power and supervises motion for rapid shutdown when needed.
Beneath the front cover, the control electronics draw 570 mA from a 24 V logic supply, and the power section dissipates a basic loss of 12 W. These values help size the auxiliary supply and cabinet airflow. During dynamic moves, each axis can deliver up to 20 A of peak current, while the continuous rating is 6 A, providing headroom for short acceleration bursts without exceeding thermal limits. The intermediate circuit is allowed to rise to 848 V DC, and the capacitor section smooths regenerated energy and limits voltage ripple. A brake transistor can source 1 A for external brake resistors during deceleration.
The housing measures 60 mm in width, 192 mm in depth, and 230 mm in height, and it weighs 2 kg, so it mounts easily on standard DIN rails without additional support. A 135 µF DC-link capacitor absorbs energy returned by braking events and works with the brake output that can supply 1 A to external caliper or holding brakes. For functional safety, the drive implements the certified safe stop functions STO, SS1, activated through the signal connector. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, so it is intended for enclosed panels with forced airflow. Motion feedback is accepted via OCT or EnDat 3, and real-time command exchange occurs over the EtherCAT system bus, ensuring that both channels synchronize to sub-microsecond network cycles.
