The 3IF681.95 is a control module to be used as part of being included in automated procedures. The module can be installed into the IF260 or CP260 slot during the installation on space savers modules. Two interfaces are provided, which are RS232 interface and Ethernet, both dedicated to high reliability data transfer when used within systems. RS232 interface is managed by ST16C650 type UART.
It has a 32-byte FIFO transmit and receive capability to enable serial data handling with high efficiency. The configuration enables reliable as well as readable reception and transmission of data in non-loss and non-latency mode. The Ethernet interface of the board is electrically isolated to enable enhanced safety operation and electrical immunity. The controller AM79C960 provides support in the Ethernet controller and features support for a hardened 128 KB receive and send buffer. The design for Ethernet is able to send data at a rate of up to a maximum of 10 MBit/s and is bus-capable. This makes the design extremely flexible for use in general use in a network. The design is able to pass data and communicate at high speed effectively in industrial control systems. The module is driven by 24V and 5V power supplies and has a maximum total power consumption of 2.4 watts.
