Product Description
The CX8050 controller comes with a CANopen master interface, and it can be used as either a CANopen master or to support CAN-Layer-2 communication. The controller is usually programmed through an additional Ethernet interface, and it can automatically detect the connected system during its start-up phase. In its basic version the CX8050 controller has a 512 MB MicrosSD card, but you can also order one with larger MicroSD cards of up to 8 GB. However, it is recommended that you use MicroSD cards approved by the manufacturer. The CX8050 controller is programmed according to the IEC 61131-3 standards, and just like all other controllers in the same category, the TwinCAT software is used for its programming and parameterization. This, in turn, makes the TwinCAT tools—System Manager, PLC Programming interface, and TwinCAT Scope available to the users. It can be purchased from Wake Industrial with a one-year warranty.
All the operations that involve the CX8050 controller should only be performed by qualified and trained personnel, with experience in automation and control engineering. The personnel must also be experienced in the administration of Embedded PC, as well as the associated network. Any intervention must be done with the understanding of control programming. The personnel handling the CX8050 controller must familiarize themselves with the current guidelines and standards of the automation environment.
The temperature surrounding the cable entry points of the CX8050 controller’s housing should always be considered during its installation. If the temperature is above 70 degrees C during normal operation or the entry point, or more than 80 degrees C at the wire branching points, the cables used must be designed for high temperatures, or use in potentially explosive environments. The screws in the FIELDBUS plug connectors must be tightened to prevent the plug connectors from slipping out. Only RJ45 connectors with an intact latch are to be used.
