Product Description

The E21NSHT-LNF-NS-04 is a hybrid step motor produced by Pacific Scientific to broaden the range of potential motion applications. This device combines the functions of a permanent magnet with variable reluctance stepper motors. Hybrid stepper motors such as the E21NSHT-LNF-NS-04 can be ordered with a wide array of different technologies. For example, special purpose motors, indicated by the “E” or “H” in their series number, assist in the functioning of applications with special acceleration requirements. These motors include NEMA 23 frame sizes in addition to hollow, low-density rotors that aid in rapid acceleration.

The E21NSHT-LNF-NS-04 is fitted with standard hybrid or Sigmax technology. While the standard hybrid enables the typical path of flux transfer to occur in motors like the E21NSHT-LNF-NS-04, Sigmax technology channels the magnet flux more appropriately to prevent leakage and to stimulate torque production. Sigmax technology works by mounting rare earth magnets to channel magnetic flux at certain points between the rotor and stator. The focusing of such flux optimizes flux pathways and results in high torque and current utilization. This is significantly better than a standard hybrid motor.

The E21NSHT-LNF-NS-04, like most other motors, is judged by the degree to which a motor is able to hold torque. Holding torque, along with rated current, outlines the maximum outside torque that can be applied to the motor without it rotating unceasingly. The E21NSHT-LNF-NS-04 can be used along with a wide array of drivers with different voltages and current guidelines. Both the “H” and “E” series include high efficiency and low loss hybrid step motors. Though the E21NSHT-LNF-NS-04 is a part of a wide variety of standard motors, custom designed windings can be ordered tailor the motor to the application needed.
