The Kollmorgen CE03561 is a Servostart Series 5 servo motor amplifier. Series 5 amplifiers are backward compatible with Series 2 amplifiers. Series 5 amplifiers add new DSP control technology, additional I/O, and lower cost topology for resolver conversion. Series 5 amplifiers incorporate new features made possible by the UCB2 digital control board. Some of these new features include SERCOS interface compliance, resolver-to-digital conversion using software techniques, pulse up / pulse down mode for encoder simulation and additional I/O. Current rating of the CE03561 is 03 Amps. The control interface on the amplifier is SERCOS. Feedback is supported through an integrated encoder. The amplifier also supports 24 Volts logic. The CE03561 amplifier is designed for use only on earthed, three-phase industrial main supply networks. Kollmorgen does not permit operation of the amplifier on power supply networks without an earth of with an asymmetrical earth.

Additional filtering elements must be used if the CE03561 amplifier is used in residential areas. The amplifier is only intended to be used with specific synchronous servo motors with closed-loop control of speed, torque, and position. The rated voltage of the motors must be at least as high as the DC-link voltage of the servo amplifier. The CE03561 amplifier should only be operated in a closed switch gear cabinet taking into account the ambient conditions defined in the environmental specifications. A new description label is attached to Series 5 amplifiers such as the CE03561: it includes the model number, serial number, and firmware version of the servo amplifier. Weight of the servo amplifier is 3.56 pounds. Dimensions of the CE03561 are 244 x 36 x 163 millimeters. The peak current is 9 Amps for 500 milliseconds and 6 Amps for 2 seconds.
