The AKM22G-BNCN2-00 is a synchronous motor of the AKM series. It is developed by Kollmorgen. The AKM series features brushless DC motors. These motors are designed on an IM B5 style. The climate category of AKM motors is 3K3 to EN 50178. The temperature of windings of these motors can be monitored via motor to servo drive communication. For this purpose, temperature sensors are installed in the windings of the stator. These motors feature 3-phase stator windings. To drive these windings, a servo amplifier must be installed. The servo amplifier performs the function of commutation between the motor and rest of the system. All AKM motors are brushless in design. AKM motors are highly dynamic and can be used for various operating systems which require precise torque and motion. These motors are an ideal choice for the packing and textile industries.

The AKM22G-BNCN2-00 is a servo motor that is designed with standard features. One of these features is a NEMA standard flange, a smooth shaft type, and IP65 protection rating.  The connection cable for this motor is typically 0.5 m . This motor does not have holding brakes. The feedback unit of this motor is comprised of a ComCoder 2048 PPR. ComCoder is basically an incremental encoder that is used in combination with Hall sensors.

The AKM22G-BNCN2-00 motor is equipped with rugged ball bearings. These ball bearings can operate for over 20,000 operating hours. The motor is equipped with a PTC for protection. The PTC is electrically isolated. Maximum rated speed of the motor is 7000 rpm. This speed is achieved at 115 V mains voltage.
