Product Description

The TBM 1.2-40-W1/024 is a high-quality auxiliary bleeder module produced by the company. The module is used with the TVM power supplies manufactured by Indramat. The system has been designed for safety applications. This device is connected in a parallel circuit with the TVM power supplies. When the connected devices are switched off, the bleeder module discharges the excess electric charge that remains stored in the devices. The bleeder module is installed in the automation line where it is used to absorb excess energy. The device absorbs the additional regenerative energy that is generated by the devices when they are run in the generator mode. The TBM 1.2-40-W1/024 has been designed with a peak bleeder energy of 40 kW. When using this module, the additional energy is absorbed from the bus system and dissipated as heat.

The TBM 1.2-40-W1/024 is constructed using a chopper and a resistor. When the motor’s inverter is run regenerative mode during motor braking, the bus voltage starts to rise. This voltage can keep on rising and even reach the threshold voltage. The bleeder module’s chopper engages the resistor to dissipate additional energy and keep the voltage well within the threshold limit. The device functions by discharging the charge stored in the machine’s filter capacitor. The TBM 1.2-40-W1/024 ensures the safety of the operating personnel by preventing them from receiving electric shocks through charged systems. In addition to its role as a safety device, this auxiliary bleeder module also functions as a voltage divider and can supply two or more voltage to the connected devices.
