Indramat brings to market the TBM1.1-20-W1-220 bleeder module. These devices are made to work with TVM series products and are designed to keep their devices safe to handle by users. With a TBM device such as this one, you have the opportunity to dissipate any additional power generated by the unit. These bleeder devices are quite versatile and as such can be used in a variety of applications.
The TBM1.1-20-W1-220 is a 20 kW unit with a built-in blower unit that requires 115 VAC voltage input. This bleeder module will remove the excess energy generated and dissipate it as heat. Within the bleeder, module, you can find a resistor and a chopper. The motor brakes and the inverter goes into regenerative mode. At this point, the voltage of the bus will rise. When the voltage approaches the point where it may rise above the threshold it needs to be released somehow. The chopper will engage at this point and get the extra energy through the resistor and help to prevent overload of voltage on the bus.
The TBM1.1-20-W1-220 bleeder module from Indramat can be installed to aid in increasing the continuous power and the peak power generated by a TVM 2.4 module. When the resistors heat up during operation it is important to note that the pathway for heat dissipation should not be obstructed. Any wires and cables that may be combustible must be positioned at least 40 mm around the top, front or sides of the unit or at least 200 mm away. Since the devices remove the added energy via heat, obstruction heat flow can cause damage to the device and stop your entire operation.
