Bosch Rexroth manufactures the PST6100.330-L which is a thyristor power unit that is designed for the connection of welding transformers. It is intended for use in resistance welding of metals in an industrial setting. It should not be used in residential, commercial, or small enterprise environments. If used near residential areas, observe a safe clearance of more than 30 meters. This type features air cooling method, separate control, and monitoring functionality, and flexible parallel and serial interfaces. Its user-friendly operator interface enables easy operation, programming, and diagnostics. Thanks to its compact design, it is easily integrated into a portable welding box system.

The PST6100.330-L controls welding transformer owing to integrated weld timer and slots for the I/O interface, field bus module, and optional quality module. It is used together with a weld timer and welding transformer to alternate current resistance welding providing optimum performance. Numerous monitoring functions are incorporated in the PST6100.330-L to ensure high operational reliability. Thanks to the thermostatic switch the operator is signaled promptly in case of overload to the weld timer. The ideal load capacity of the thyristor power unity is determined by the welding transformer rating.

Ensure that there is adequate cooling inside the switchboard to avoid overload. The switchboard should have a protection category of IP 54. The PST6100.330-L can be mounted vertically or on a metal plate. During operation, the unit is vulnerable to malfunction should there be insufficient cooling, surges from main voltage, or current parameters set are higher than the maximum current permitted. The thermostatic switch stops sequence when the temperature rises above 80 degrees. the PST6100.330-L has a 400 to 600 V rated voltage and 110A rated current.
