The NAM04.1-480-0450-NN model can take a connection directly from the 3-phase 380 – 460 VAC power source without using transformers. The line connection module consists of a DC bus unit (choke and capacitor module), and a communication choke (KD 20) which generates the continuous mechanical power of 11.2/24 kW. The combination of the line connection module and KDV 4.1-30-3 power supply module produced a power supply unit that delivers the DC bus continuous power of 14/30 kW which is used to drive the drive module. The power supply, drive, and motor are combined together to produce a modular INDRAMAT AC drive system. The communication between the KDV 4.1 module and drive takes place through a wire-ribbon cable and it also assists in supplying signal voltage to the drive. The module is equipped with an extensive array for monitoring functions.

The model NAM04.1-480-0450-NN converts the AC line voltage and provides a DC bus voltage for supplying power to the drive and when the drive is operating as generators, the regenerated energy is either fed back into the electrical power system or it is absorbed by a bleeder resistor. The continuous regenerated power of 20 kW and peak regenerated power of 40 kW is absorbed by the bleeder resistor. The model comes with a heat sink to dissipate the heat energy and a forced convection method is used via a built-in fan for cooling purposes. The maximum bearable temperature range for the model is +55 degree Celsius with derating and it can be installed at the maximum altitude of 4000 meters above sea level with derating in nominal data.
