The HDS05.2-W300N-HT29-02-FW is a Rexroth HDS series drive controller. It is designed for intelligent control of Rexroth Indramat 1MB, MHD and MKD motors. HDS series drives can be used a servo and main drives for applications ranging from machine tools to printing machines. A configured drive controller such as the HDS05.2-W300N-HT29-02-FW is comprised of five main components which are the configuration type plate, basic unit for the controller, command communications module, software module and optional plug-in modules. The HDS05.2-W300N-HT29-02-FW includes factory fitted SERCOS command module. Firmware for the controller, which is loaded on the software module, needs to be ordered as separate subposition. Slots U2 to U3 on the basic unit of the controller are available for installation of optional plug-in modules. Different digital I/O cards and different interface cards are available as plug in modules.

The HDS05.2-W300N-HT29-02-FW is an air-cooled device with internal blower. To ensure smooth flow of air around an operating controller, Rexroth has made recommendations for the minimum spacing around an installed controller. These recommendations are: 90 millimeters on the front of the controller, 80 millimeters on the top side and 100 millimeters on the bottom side. These spacings may need to be increased to accommodate bends in the motor power cable. Rated current of the HDS05.2-W300N-HT29-02-FW is 300 Amps. Function ID of the controller is 29 and the version of function ID is 02. For optimal operation with rated values, the temperature of air around an operating HDS05.2-W300N-HT29-02-FW should be between 5 and 45 degrees Celsius. Beyond 45 degrees Celsius the output of the controller will derate. Operating the HDS05.2-W300N-HT29-02-FW beyond 55 degrees Celsius is not recommended as it could damage the device.
