The HDS03.2-W100N-HS56-01-FW is one of the HDS series of configured drive controllers from Bosch Rexroth. The configured unit supports a command communication module and three additional plug-in modules. The firmware for the product has to be ordered separately. The device features an XS1 shield for the motor cable. The controller has a status display for indicating warnings and errors during operation, a fault reset key and two analog diagnostics outputs. The basic unit has a power consumption of 25W. The product must not be operated for even a brief period if there is no permanent ground wire connection.

The electrical connection points of the configured drive controller should not be touched when the power supply is on. Precautions must be taken to ensure that there is no crushing or pinching when the product is handled or during installation. It is important not to access or touch the device for at least 10 minutes after it has been used. The unit is compatible with the entire range of MHD, MKD, 2AD and 1MB series of the manufacturer’s AC motors that are used in machine tools. The device supports command communication with a SERCOS interface. The function code 5 is determined and documented by the manufacturer. The surface of the device tends to get very hot during operation. The digital I/O card interface supports data exchange in both directions. It has 16 outputs and 15 inputs that are differentiated by internally set addresses. It also supports the use of interface cards to connect incremental measuring systems that have sinusoidal and square-wave signal outputs. The configuration type-plate must highlight any change made to the configuration.
