Manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat, the HDS02.2-W040N-HA03-01-FW 2^nd generation drive controller is a configured unit that functions by attaching plug-in modules. The drive controller is made up of the main unit which is the HDS02.2-W040N-HA03-01-FW itself, software module, command communications module, configuration type plate, and additional plug-in modules. The command communication module in this case is the analog interface while the software module type is HSM. The firmware of the HDS02.2-W040N-HA03-01-FW drive controller is fitted in the software module and stores the drive parameters. The selected configuration and the needed functions determine the firmware.

Since all the parameters are stored in the software module, the user can easily replace the basic unit but keep the existing parameters by installing the software module of the former unit into the new one.
