The drive DIAX04 with the servo function is developed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It comprises various parts including drive controller HDS02.1-W040N-HS91-01-FW which is of the 1st generation. With a maximum current of 40 A, the drive controller is extensively used in the automation industry, textiles industry and for other machines requiring a heavy engineering setup. The HDS02.1-W040N-HS91-01-FW drive controller is modular with the basic unit adaptable to various requirements by adding different plugin modules.

The drive controller comprises various other parts like a software module, command communications module, configuration type plate and other plugin modules that can be added as per the situation demanded. Along with that, it also features an internal cooling system that comes with a built-in blower.  The software module holds the firmware of the drive and all the necessary drive parameters. The firmware type is chosen separately according to the configuration required. There are a variety of plugin modules available such as Digital I/O cards in which every interface has 32 inputs and 24 outputs. There are also multiple interface cards for different measuring systems in which only one plugin module can be added to the device at a time. There are also interface cards which serve as an interface to the bus systems and provide integral control that enhances the centralized support of digital drive controllers for various SYNAX applications.

The 2 display options also make sure that diagnostic messages on the drive are displayed by H-1 display and two-axis device messages are displayed on H-2 screen. No communication interface is required to display the current operating status of the device. There are chances when no command is activated in the drive but it might still be in operating mode. In such a case, ‘AF’ symbol will appear on the display. When there are multiple messages to be shown, the one with the highest priority is shown first. The device also features a SERCOS Interface Command Communication and Controller Family of DIAX04 for effective usage.
