The HDD02.1-W040N-HD12 drive controller must be used only in certain industries permitted by the national EMC regulations. This Bosch Rexroth product should use only those spare parts and accessories approved by the manufacturer. The device is kept cool during operation using internal air circulation with an inbuilt blower. It must be ensured that the water condensation formed on the blower does not fall on the controller to avoid chances of damage. The unit must be installed in a vertical orientation with the motor connection at the bottom.

The mounting rail on which the drive controller is fitted must be fastened in every second slot with M5 screws that have a tightening torque of 4Nm. This rail should not have any paint within the mounting area to ensure proper contact between the mounting panel and mounting rail. When the controller is installed, the ground connection must be established at the lower edge using a grounding clip. When multiple devices are used at a time, the ones with higher currents and power needs are placed as close to the supply unit as possible.
