The HCS04.2E-W1540 is the king of C-Series drive controller power units. It handles the largest amount of power of any power section in its classification: a rated input current of 1037 amps at the standard of 400 to 480 volt three-phase AC. It can also handle power fluctuations of up to 15% additional current with no problem. After power passes through the machine, which operates as a transformer between the mains and your network of Bosch Rexroth Indramat equipment, the HCS04.2E-W1540 maintains a rated output current of 1126 amps. This current can be applied to one or several IndraDrive servos, allowing it to adapt to the needs of your automation process.
Keeping the HCS04.2E-W1540 in stable working order is a powerful integrated cooling system, which blows a considerable 2400 cubic meters through itself hourly in the IP23 configuration. That’s enough air to keep the 300 kilogram HCS04.2E-W1540 in perfect condition at up to an ambient temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, and functional with performance losses past that point.
The continuous mechanical output rating of the HCS04.2E-W1540 high-power drive control unit is 110 to 630 kilowatts, which is enough to, under typical usage conditions, drive a 900 horsepower motor with the fine control that is an essential in every Bosch Rexroth Indramat automation unit. An external braking chopper provides for the maximum 750 kilowatt braking power necessary to halt the powerful motors with which the HCS04.2E-W1540 is associated quickly and safely. Despite the impressive power of the HCS04.2E-W1540, it still accepts a comfortably low DC control voltage of 24--all it takes to command the incredible forces at the disposal of the HCS04.2E-W1540.
