The Servodyn-D inverter system has a robust construction and compact dimensions. It has specifically been designed to deliver maximum power output. It has different modules, with each module having a dedicated function. The system also comes with inverters having backplane modules that support cold module engineering. The DM 8K 1301-D is a subsystem within the inverter system. It is a three-phase module that has the dedicated function of position, speed, and current control. The system also contains pre-set parameters and all the required drive-data for the drive control of the module-motor combination.

The DM 8K 1301-D operates on a DC link voltage of 670 VDC (regulated) and 715 VDC (non-regulated) voltage. At f_s= 4 kHz, the system has a maximum current of 10 A (maximum overload) and 9.6 A (continuous overload). The rated current is 2.1 A (maximum overload) and 5.6 A (continuous overload). The system’s performance parameters remain largely unaffected by changing ambient conditions. The changes in some parameters are minimal. For example, there is no current derating until 45 ᵒC. From 45 ᵒC to 55 ᵒC,  the current is derating is only 0.1 A/K. Sine/cosine encoders with a frequency limit of 800 kHz can be used as a direct position measuring system with SERCOS interface. With a weight of just 6 kg, the module has a 50 mm width. Overall, the DM 8K 1301-D serves as the best module for position and speed control applications.
