 In DKS01.1-W050A-RL01-00, the signal cables are connected using screw terminals. The monitoring and controlling of the motor‘s holding brakes are integrated inside the servo drive unit. The drive’s internal interlocks do not allow the main contactor in the DKS to become energized until the contact is closed. While setting up drive controls with a positioning card or an analog interface, a VT-100 terminal or a computer that has a VT-100 terminal emulation program can be connected to this interface. The maximum allowed cable length is 75 meters in case Indramat cables are used.

The release and engage function of the motor holding brake is controlled by the DKS servo drive. The brake on the MDD motors is not designed to be used as a service brake. After almost 20,000 motor revolutions, the brake disks will be completely worn down. The only requirement is to provide fuses or breakers for the power feed line. The DKS01.1-W050A-RL01-00 servo drive can also be connected to a 230 V (50 - 60 Hz) single-phase system. A specific S..-DDS 2 connector kit is provided for each specific configuration. The connector kit includes the connector for the plug-in cards that have been installed on the configured servo drive and the motor feedback connector (X4).

The UD contact informs that the DKS has a proper power supply. It only opens when some fault related to the power supply occurs such as when DC Bus voltage becomes less than 200 V. The K1NO output is scanned to find out if the main contactor has been energized or not. The presence of a closed K1NO contact is used as a criterion for enabling closed-loop control on the drive. MDD Servo motors equipped with digital servo feedback (DSF) should be operated with DKS01.1-W050A-RL01-00 drives.
