Product Description
The Rexroth Indramat DKR03.1-W200B-BE37-01-FW drive can be connected directly to a grounded star system or an external three-phase system. In a case where the voltage from the mains and the allowed voltage does not match, it is advisable to install an autotransformer to balance the voltages. Use an isolating transformer or an overvoltage suppressor to connect the drive controller to ungrounded three-phase systems. This will protect the controllers from dangerous overvoltage in the power line. The drive is powered by an ungrounded three-phase system through an isolating transformer only if the machine is protected by an overvoltage suppressor.
Operating the DKR03.1-W200B-BE37-01-FW with an overvoltage suppressor does not provide the same protection as using an isolating transformer. Overvoltage suppressors are less costly however once damaged the suppressors cannot be repaired. The required current supply for the drive controller does not rely on the voltage from the main power source. The DKR03.1-W200B-BE37-01-FW form the DKR series has a thyristor bridge which functions together with the phase control at the mains to generate the required voltage of > 400 V. This will in turn supply a voltage of about 520 V to the DC bus. If the drive's power source is from a transformer, then the secondary voltage should be reduced to or maintained at 400 V.
