The Bosch Rexroth DDS03.2-W015-BA01-01-FW is a DDS03.2 series digital controller. It supports two motor feedback methods: digital servo feedback and resolver feedback. The advantage of this is that motors that support either feedback method work with the controller. DDS controllers support four types of command communication modules including analog, SERCOS, Interbus-S, and single-axis positioning control. The command communication module on the supports an analog interface.  Rated output of the DDS03.2-W015-BA01-01-FW is 15 Amps. The controller delivers rated output as long as the ambient temperature is between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius and the site elevation is less than 1000 meters. Controller operation outside these specified limits leads to output derating. Bosch allows operation with derated data at temperatures up to 55 degrees Celsius, and altitudes up to 5000 meters.

The storage temperature for unused DDS controllers is -30 to 85 degrees Celsius. The protection category of the DDS03.2-W015-BA01-01-FW is IP20. This rating implies that controller is not safe from dust or moisture. Therefore Bosch recommends controller mounting inside a suitable cabinet. The DDS03.2-W015-BA01-01-FW dissipates heat inside the cabinet. Therefore operators can either install the controller inside a large cabinet or use air conditioning. Operators can connect the DDS03.2-W015-BA01-01-FW to supply systems that deliver regulated 24 Volts DC. A configured drive controller includes both hardware and software. The firmware fixes the functions of the drive controller. A firmware type plate attached to the controller allows identification of installed firmware. A separate hardware configuration type plate allows identification of the hardware on the controller. The approximate weight of the DDS03.2-W015-BA01-01-FW is 5.5 kilograms. According to recommendation from Bosch, only trained personnel should handle and install the controller.
