Combining the intelligent digital drive controllers of the DDS series by Bosch Rexroth with digital AC servo motors form cost-effective, rapid-response drives. The drive controllers are components of the DDS drive system by the manufacturer and have several applications. They include machine tools, textile machines, printing and packaging machines, robotics, and handling machines.

The DDS03.1-W050-RA11-01-FW is a model of the Bosch Rexroth digital drive controller in the DDS drive system. It employs the heat technology cooling method where heat is dissipated within the control cabinet it is mounted in. Hence, it should be installed in a large control cabinet, but this requires minimal effort. Based on the DIN 40 050 standard, this control cabinet has an IP 10 protection rating and cannot be penetrated by solid materials over 50mm. The drive controller features an ANALOG interface module to facilitate its communication with servo motors. This is possible because the module contains control inputs and signal outputs for communicating with connected control units.

Only motors that use Resolver Feedback for position detection can be connected to the DDS03.1-W050-RA11-01-FW. It can also be connected to all Indramat supply units with a regulated DC 24V. The current rating of the drive controller is 50A, and its designated DC bus voltage is 300V with a tolerance of ±15%. It has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 20, indicating that it is impermeable by solid objects over 12mm. This DDS model weighs approximately 5.5kg and can easily be mounted into its control cabinet with its supply unit. It supports the use of firmware which must be purchased as a separate sub-item. The firmware fixes its functional features.
