The Indramat DDS drive controllers are dynamic devices with extensive functionality. Due to their modular designs, they can be configured to adapt to several applications. These devices combine with AC motors such as the MDD, MKD, LAR, and 2AF motors to form rapid response drives. The drives are used in robotics, machine tools, textile machines, and handling machines.

The DDS03.1-W030-RA01-00 is a Version 1 DDS drive controller. It has a maximum peak current of 30A and a continuous current of 10A. It is also equipped with an ANALOG interface that functions as its communication module. It utilizes the heat technology cooling system; thus, it must be installed in a large control cabinet and may require additional air conditioning. For connection to AC motors, it uses the Indramat motor power cable.  This cable is 75m long and features one line for a protective conductor connection and a shielded cable pair for motor temperature monitoring.

Furthermore, the DDS03.1-W030-RA01-00 is only compatible with AC motors with a resolver feedback encoder. It is a product of protection class IP 20 according to EN 60529. Hence, it cannot be penetrated by extrinsic solid objects with a diameter of 12mm or more. It is also completely contact-proof. For long storage, this device requires a clean, dry space with a temperature range of -30°C to +85°C. It is also best operated in a room with a maximum ambient temperature of 45°C. Like other DDS drive controllers, this model can be connected with only Indramat supply units with a regulated DC 24V voltage. If it is replaced, its software module enables the transfer of motor parameters to a new unit.
