The INDRAMAT DDS drive controllers are innovative devices with a modular configuration. They can adapt to various functions with the aid of different modules. These include software modules, plugin modules, and firmware. Their applications include robotics, textile machines, handling machines, and printing and packaging machines.

The DDS02.2-W200-BE45-01-FW is a first edition drive controller in the DDS series. Its ideal cooling system is heat technology. Due to this heat dissipation system, the drive control unit requires minimal effort during installation. This controller is rated to have a maximum peak current of 200A and a continuous current of 65A. It also offers a protection degree of IP 20, so although it is vulnerable to water, it provides complete protection against dust penetration. It is also compatible with INDRAMAT supply units with a controlled DC 24V Voltage. The communication module on this device is a SERCOS interface. It enables the operation of digital drives with  SERCOS compatible controls using a fiber optic cable.

A control cabinet houses the DDS02.2-W200-BE45-01-FW with its supply unit and has an IP 10 rating. This means that the cabinet has total contact protection and cannot be penetrated by objects with a 50mm diameter or more. The controller is connected to AC motors using the INDRAMAT motor power cable, which has a protective conduction line. This line offers protection against very high contact voltages by leaking fault currents. The INDRAMAT cable also features a shielded pair of lines for motor temperature monitoring to prevent motor damage by overheating. During transport, this drive controller should be kept in a space with a temperature range of -30°C to +85°C. In addition, the use of firmware is supported.
