The Bosch Rexroth DDS02.2-W050-BE05-01-FW is a DDS02.2 series drive controller. The controller is comprised of a basic unit, slots for modules and integrated interfaces. Use of optional hardware modules allow the controller to be adapted to a wide range of customer requirements. The DDS02.2-W050-BE05-01-FW is rated for 50 Amps. The device ratings are valid as long as it is used for approved applications under approved environmental conditions. The approval applications are listed in the product documentation and include printing machines, packaging machines and textiles. The approved environmental conditions include temperatures between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius, elevations between 0 and 1000 meters and relative humidity of up to 95%. The DDS02.2-W050-BE05-01-FW controller supports two motor feedback methods: resolver feedback and digital servo feedback. Thus is can be used with motors that support either of the feedback methods.

The DDS02.2-W050-BE05-01-FW dissipates heat inside the control cabinet. DDS series controllers that feature a heat sink and dissipate heat outside the cabinet are also available for order. Function ID of the controller is 05 and the version of function ID is 01. Both of these IDs are fixed and determined by Bosch. Each DDS controller features a command communication module. The DDS02.2-W050-BE05-01-FW comes with a SERCOS module that allows communication with SERCOS-enabled control devices over fiber optics. Firmware for the DDS02.2-W050-BE05-01-FW controller is ordered separately. The firmware resides on a software module, along with the configured drive parameters. If the drive develops a fault and needs to be replaced, the firmware module can be easily moved to the replacement drive. This leads to rapid commissioning of the replacement drive, and minimizes system downtime. All installation and troubleshooting activities must be carried out by trained personnel.
