The DDS drive controller series has a modular concept that makes it possible to flexibly combine AC servo and main drives to create one compact drive package which uses one supply unit. It has a wide range of applications, including textile, printing and packaging machines, robotics, and handling machines. Rapid response drive systems are created when the DDS drive controller units are combined with AC motors like MDD, MKD, LAR, LAF, LSF, 2AD, ADF, and 1MB.

The motor feedback of the DDS02.2-A100-BE43-01 is the Digital servo feedback and Resolver feedback. Its command communication is via the SERCOS interface, which functions with fiber optic cables and offers inputs for evaluating reference switches, travel range limit switches, and sensor inputs. The drive controller functions are fixed by the firmware, which is purchased as a separate item; hence, it is possible to reorder the same version. The DDS02.2-A100-BE43-01 can be used with all Indramat supply units with regulated DC 24 V.

The DDS02.2-A100-BE43-01 is designed for mounting into a closed housing or closed cabinet. Cooling is by cold technology, with most of the energy dissipated by the unit directly conducted outside and not accumulated within the control cabinet. Therefore, it can be mounted into small control cabinets or housing without requiring extensive heat conductance or heat exchanging units. Its protection category is IP 20, which means it is protected from touch by fingers and objects greater than 12 mm. However, it is not protected against liquids. It should be operated at an ambient temperature of 40° C, relative humidity that does not exceed 95%, and a setup height of 1000 m above sea level.
