The Bosch Rexroth DDS02.1-W200-DS24-04-FW is a drive controller that is rated for 200 Amps nominal output. It is widely used for motor control in industrial applications. The DDS series of digital controllers is compatible with LAR/LAF linear motors and MKD/MDD synchronous motors. The DDS02.1-W200-DS24-04-FW includes integrated digital servo feedback support which enables use with servo motors. The controller can receive feedback from connected servo motors and control motor parameters including speed, torque and position. The controller firmware needs to be ordered separately. As per the type code the controller function ID is 24 and the function ID version is 04. The command communication module on the DDS02.1-W200-DS24-04-FW is SERCOS. Series DDS 2.1 drive controllers with SERCOS interface enable the operation of digital intelligent AC servo motors using control units equipped with a SERCOS interface.

The SERCOS interface is a serial real-time communication system. The control unit and the drives are connected in a ring through fiber-optic cables which serve as paths for serial data exchange between the control unit and the drives. The three operating modes are position loop, torque loop and velocity loop. Benefits of SERCOS communication include exploitation of high-speed resolution, reduced complexity of NC controls and display of drive data and parameters via the SERCOS terminal.  DS 04 is the name used for a digital intelligent AC servo drive with SERCOS interface and direct position sensing. The DDS02.1-W200-DS24-04-FW is an air cooled drive. It works optimally at 0 to 45 degrees Celsius ambient temperature. Use of the DDS02.1-W200-DS24-04-FW above 55 degrees Celsius is not permitted. Use of DDS drives under non-specified ambient conditions is not permitted and could lead to equipment damage.
