The Bosch DDS02.1-W150-DA02-01-FW is a digital drive. It is used for motor control and is compatible with motors from the MKD, MDD and LAR product lines. Applications for which the DDS drives are well suited include textiles, machine tools, printing machinery and robotics. A complete drive controller is comprised of several components that include a basic unit, drive firmware, command and communication module and plug in modules. The basic unit of the drive has five slots for modules. One slot is reserved for a software module that contains the firmware and the drive parameters. One slot is reserved for the command and communication module which in the case of the DDS02.1-W150-DA02-01-FW is analog. Three other slots can be used for accommodating modules from a wide range of optional modules.

All five slots are located on the front panel of the DDS02.1-W150-DA02-01-FW. The controller has three rating plates. One rating plate is for the basic unit, one is for the firmware and one rating plate is for the hardware configuration. The rating plates list information including type code, serial number and other specifications and are provided to help with device identification. The DDS02.1-W150-DA02-01-FW also supports digital servo feedback. The DDS02.1-W150-DA02-01-FW is a convection cooled device that dissipates heat inside the cabinet where it is installed.
