Over the years, Bosch Rexroth has ensured that users of drive and motion control units are presented with the most innovative products on the market. These include servo motors, frequency converters, control devices, and so on. Some of these products can be integrated to form whole drive systems, as seen in the DDS drive system by Bosch Rexroth. This drive system is a combination of intelligent AC servo drives and digital drive controllers. With the modular setup of the system, these devices can be flexibly combined to create compact drive packages that can use single supply units.

The DDS02.1-W050-DS50-01-FW is a Version 1 digital drive controller in the DDS02.1 series.  It has a rated current value of 50A and is operated with a DC bus voltage value of 300V with a +/- 15% allowance. Due to its compact, space-conserving build, the drive controller can be mounted into a control cabinet or closed housing with its supply unit. The Ingress Protection rating of the cabinet is IP 10 according to DIN 40 050 requirements as it is protected from the penetration of solid external objects over 50mm in size.

Only motors with digital servo feedback (DSF) can be connected to the DDS02.1-W050-DS50-01-FW as it is equipped with this motor feedback system. For heat elimination, it implements heat technology where the cooling airflow is inside the control cabinet, and heat is dissipated within this housing.  It also uses a single-axis positioning plugin module fr communication, enabling the creation of a standalone single-axis positioning unit. In addition, firmware can be used in its plugin and software modules, and it determines the specific function of the drive controller.
