The DDS drive system is a Bosch Rexroth product designed for the creation of a compact drive package that can use just one supply unit with AC servo motors and main drives. The DDS02.1 series is made up of digital drive controllers in this system, all of which are designed with a modular concept that makes them configurable for several functions.

The DDS02.1-W050-DS50-00-FW drive controller model in the DDS02.1 series has a current rating of 50 A. It uses digital servo feedback as its motor feedback system, and as a result, it can only be connected to motors with this feedback system. Its cooling method is heat technology, where heat is expelled within its control cabinet. This control cabinet protects it from damage due to the entry of solid objects exceeding a 50 mm diameter and has an IP 10 Ingress Protection rating according to the DIN 40 050 standard. The drive control unit is also protected from solid objects over 12 mm with its IP 20 rating.  

For communication within the drive system, the DDS02.1-W050-DS50-00-FW is equipped with a single-axis positioning plug-in module. With it, the drive controller creates a distinct single-axis positioning unit. It also supports the use of firmware in its software and plug-in modules. The firmware determines the specific functions of the drive controller device and must be ordered as a separate sub-item.
