Product Description

The Bosch Rexroth DDS02.1-W025-DL04-01-FW is a digital drive controller. It belongs to the DDS product line. DDS drives support three types of communication modules: SERCOS, analog and single-axis position control. The DDS02.1-W025-DL04-01-FW drive comes with single-axis position control communication module. Other drive specifications include 25 Amps rated current and integrated digital servo feedback. The system carries high voltages and current. Therefore Bosch recommends following safety guidelines and ensuring proper grounding. Even brief tests should not be performed without proper grounding. Before any activity is performed, the drive should be disconnected from power and then allowed a minimum of five minutes discharge completely. Dangerous machine movements can occur due to various reasons including software errors, incorrect commands, faulty cabling and incorrect components. Such issues can occur just after the equipment is turned on or after a long period of time.

Bosch recommends use of protective railings and fences, covers and light curtains to prevent injury and equipment damage from dangerous movements. The fences and coverings used should have sufficient strength to withstand the possible momentum. Bosch also recommends deploying emergency stop switches near the machines so that an operator can reach them easily in emergency situations.  The power connection for the DDS02.1-W025-DL04-01-FW drive should be isolated through an emergency stop circuit or a starting lock-out should be used to prevent unintentional startups. Bosch has provided detailed installation and safety instructions in the product documentation. These should be read, understood and implemented. Bosch will not liable for any consequences that result from improper use of the drive system. The DDS02.1-W025-DL04-01-FW is an air cooled drive. The firmware for the drive has to be ordered separately from the hardware.
