The Bosch Rexroth DDS02.1-W015-DS03-02-FW is an AC servo drive. It is microprocessor controlled and can be connected to three-phase AC input.  Typical drive applications include CNC machine tool axes, grinding machines, robots and handling systems. All monitoring, parameterization and diagnostics functions on the DDS02.1-W015-DS03-02-FW drive are handled by a signal processor. The drive supports digital servo feedback and is capable of very high-resolution measurement of the motor rotor position over the entire speed range. The DDS02.1-W015-DS03-02-FW is supplied with an SERCOS interface. The SERCOS interface is a serial real-time communication system. The control unit and drives are connected in a ring by means of fiber optic cables that serve as paths for data exchange between the control units and the drives. The benefits of drives with SERCOS interface include high speed resolution, reduced complexity of NC controls and wiring, and display and entry of all drive data.

The DDS02.1-W015-DS03-02-FW drive can be used with MDD servo motors. The drive has a modular architecture that enables adaptation to different requirement. Specifically the basic unit of the drive has a number of slots that can be used for the installation of optional plug in modules. The software module contains the drive firmware and operating parameters. It is installed on Slot U5 of the basic unit. This module can be removed and installed on a replacement drive if required. The command and communication module installs on slot U1 of the basic unit of the drive. Three slots - namely U2, U3 and U4 - are available for plug in modules. The width of the basic unit for the DDS02.1-W015-DS03-02-FW drive is 105 millimeters. The DDS02.1-W015-DS03-02-FW has a current rating of 15 Amps.
