The Bosch Rexroth CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW is a digital control section. Each control section is an independent component that plugs into the power section. As a standard, Bosch supplies complete drive controllers with a control section. In exceptional cases, Bosch supplies control sections as separate units. When delivered separately, only personnel trained by Bosch are allowed to mount and dismount control sections. There is a risk of damage to hardware due to excessive mounting and dismounting. For a particular drive controller, the control should not be mounted or dismounted more than 20 times. Contact between control sections and exposed conductive parts can lead to control section damage. Therefore, such exposed parts, such as tools, parts and the human body, should be discharged through grounding.

Bosch recommends transport and storage of control sections inside conductive packaging. The CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW is an advanced control section. It is compatible with a standard control panel. The control panel should be connected to the control section before the unit is switched on. The CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW supports an encoder module with EnDat 2.1 interface. The control section also features a digital I/O extension module with SSI encoder interface. This module has 16 input channels and 16 output channels, and supports SSI encoder evaluation for absolute position detection for encoders with an SSI interface. The CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MD2-NN-S-NN-FW does not include a safety module. Hence two slots on the unit are vacant: slot 2 for an optional module and slot 4 for a safety module.
