The Bosch Rexroth CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MA1-S1-S-NN-FW is a digital control unit. It is one of the primary components of controllers from the IndraDrive product line. Bosch has developed different kinds of control units. The control units differ in number of slots for plug in modules, configurability and other software features. The CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MA1-S1-S-NN-FW belongs to the category of advanced control units. It has four slots for plug in modules. The control unit is compatible with a standard control panel that features a digital display and a four-button keypad. The control panel does not support hot swap capability. Therefore operators must connect it to the control unit before the control unit is switched on. The CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MA1-S1-S-NN-FW features three pre-installed plug in modules including a safety module, an encoder module and analog I/O module.

The safety module installed on the CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MA1-S1-S-NN-FW supports safety technology I/O. This module allows numerous application-related safety functions such as safety related drive interlock, safety related direction of motion and safety related standstill. This safety module can only be used in conjunction with an encoder. The physical interface for the safety module is a 9-pin D-sub connector. Bosch recommends use of stranded copper wire with 0.25 to 0.5 mm² cross-sectional area. The encoder module installed on the CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MA1-S1-S-NN-FW includes an EnDat 2.1 interface. The third plug in module is an analog I/O extension module that supports two analog input channels and two analog output channels. The input and output channels on the I/O module are rated for ±10 Volts and have 12-bit resolution. The CSH01.1C-S3-EN2-NNN-MA1-S1-S-NN-FW supports SERCOS III master communication that supports 100 Mbps data rates. The control unit firmware has to be ordered as a separate subposition.
