The Bosch Rexroth CSB01.1C-PL-ENS-MEM-L2-S-NN-FW is a basic universal control section. The different types of digital control sections that are manufactured by Bosch for IndraDrive controllers differ in configurability, the number of slots for optional modules, the number of integrated I/Os and cycle time options. Basic universal control sections have a total of three slots for optional modules. Other types of control sections have more than three slots for optional modules. The CSB01.1C-PL-ENS-MEM-L2-S-NN-FW is supplied with three pre-installed modules that are encoder emulation, encoder IndraDyn and a safety module with safe torque off (STO) support. The encoder IndraDyn module is used with encoders that have a 12 Volt supply voltage such as those found on MSK series motors. The encoder emulation module is used for emulation of absolute value and incremental encoder signals for further evaluation by a control unit.

The signals are galvanically isolated from the circuit board. An external power supply is not required. The master interface on the CSB01.1C-PL-ENS-MEM-L2-S-NN-FW is parallel interface that contains 16 digital outputs and 16 digital inputs. The inputs/outputs are combined in groups of 4 outputs and 4 inputs each. The CSB01.1C-PL-ENS-MEM-L2-S-NN-FW is only compatible with a standard control panel. The standard control panel has a single-line display and is not suited for hot plug, i.e.it must not be plugged in or disconnected when the drive controller has been switched on.
