CLM axis positioning controls created by Rexroth Indramat like most of the controls produced by this firm are long-lasting and reliable. The CLM controls are based on microprocessor positioning. These multi-tasking controls can be easily programmed and are designed for motion control precision of up to 4 axes. The CLM controls are used in controlling Indramat's AC servo systems to drive ballscrews or other devices for positioning. These are closed-loop feedback systems that offer precise control of position as well as speed at all times.
The CLM controls plays a critical role in positioning applications such as roll-forming, automatic bending, thermoforming, packaging, woodworking, and handling equipment. The CLM controls have an extensive set of commands which permits them to undertake even the most complex or difficult processing tasks. The most interesting thing about the CLM controls is that they can simultaneously operate four programs of motion control and a background PLC program if they have been programmed into multiple tasks. The programming of these controls can be done online or offline.
The Rexroth's FWA-CLM1.3-LA1-03VRS-MS firmware for CLM axis positioning controls can be used in remote operation. This control needs 24 Vdc for effective operation. This voltage may be supplied from an external power supply of 24 Vdc or the KDV. The feedback cables of this control are not only shielded but also routed away from power sources with high voltage to reduce electrical noise and enhance reliability. These cables should never be routed near machines with high amperage such as welding equipment that produces powerful magnetic field interference. When this control is in operation, inductive loads like solenoids, motors, etc. which can be switched on or off need to be suppressed with diodes (DC) or even R-C networks (AC).
