The control section is an essential part of the IndraDrive controller, with the power section being the second part. The control sections in the CDB series are different from each other based on their configurability, available interfaces, and pulse frequencies. The control sections’ applications include handling and mounting systems, packaging and food machines, printing and paper processing machines, and machine tools.

The CDB01.1C-SE-EN1-EN1-ENS-ENS-S1-S-NN-FW is one of the control sections in the CDB series. It is a configurable BASIC UNIVERSAL type with a double-axis. It works with the SERCOS interface and its communications are via fiber optic cables that can be obtained from Bosch Rexroth. It has two modules for Resolvers and HSF encoder evaluation, which support encoders with supply voltages of DC 8V or AC 18.2V peak-peak. There are also two modules for standard encoder evaluation interfaces for encoder systems with a 12V power supply, such as the IndraDyn S MSK motors.

Equipped with the Safety Technology I/O module, the CDB01.1C-SE-EN1-EN1-ENS-ENS-S1-S-NN-FW protects users as well. Some of its application-related safety functions include safety-related standstill, safety-related drive interlock, safety-related reduced speed, safety-related direction of motion, etc. It is also equipped with a standard control panel with a single-line display that shows operating states, command and error diagnoses, and pending warnings. The standard control panel is also used to commission the SERCOS interface, set the drive address, and fix the field transmission rate.
