B&R prioritizes innovative technology in the design of its products, as seen in its smart AP1000 automation panels. These display units can be equipped with receivers for Smart Display Link (SDL), SDL3 or SDL4, or a PC unit. Hence, they can be used remotely or as part of a Panel PC, including the Panel PC 2100.

The 5AP5230.240C-000 is an automation panel model of the Automation Panel 5000 series. It is equipped with a thin-film-transistor color display of 24.0” diagonal length. With its full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, it displays crisp images with detailed colors. The touchscreen technology of the panel is Projected Capacitive Touch (PCT); hence it is highly sensitive to touch commands and processes them swiftly. This touchscreen has a transmittance above 90% and is equipped with a B&R touch controller that supports hardware calibration. The backlight of the panel is the LED type, and it has a dimmable brightness that ranges between 30 cd/m² and 300 cd/m².

A white aluminum coating encloses the 5AP5230.240C-000. It is built for Type 4X indoor use with the 5ACCMA00.000x-000 mounting unit and Type 1 with the 5ACCMA00.010x-000 mounting unit according to UL 50. This AP5000 panel’s degree of protection according to EN 60529 is IP 65 with the 5ACCMA00.000x-000 and IP 54 with the 5ACCMA00.010x-000. In both cases, it is dust-proof and impermeable by sprays from water jets. A temperature sensor is integrated into the device's display to monitor its temperature and prevent damage due to overload. In addition, it supports the installation of expansion units where operating elements have been integrated.
