B&R manufactures the AP1000 automation panels as the basis of the Automation Panel 1000, Panel PC 900, Panel PC 2100, and Panel PC 3100 system families. These panels are designed to simplify work and improve efficiency across a wide range of operations. They are installed using retaining clips or clamping blocks.

The 5AP1120.156B-000 is an automation panel in the B&R AP1000 series. It has a 15.6" display size and is equipped with a single-touch touchscreen with analog resistive technology. This touchscreen has an 81% ±3% transmittance and has a B&R touch controller that supports hardware calibration. The panel’s display has an LED backlight with a half-brightness time of 70,000 h and dimmable brightness between 40 cd/m² and 400 cd/m². Thanks to its HD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, images are projected with an impressive amount of detail. The frame of this B&R panel is made from coated aluminum, and it features a 3mm built-in gasket.

Thermal sensors on the display of the 5AP1120.156B-000 monitor the panel's temperature and protect it from damage due to overload. According to UL 50, its front part supports Type 4X indoor use only. This part of the panel had an Ingress Protection rating of IP 65, meaning that it will not be penetrated by water jet sprays. It is also dustproof and touchproof. The back is IP 20-rated and is only protected from the entry of solid extrinsic materials over 12mm in diameter. The required nominal voltage to operate the AP1000 panel is 24V DC with an allowance of ±25%, and its nominal current is 3A.
