Product Description

The EK1914 is an EtherCAT coupler offered by Beckhoff Automation GmBH. The coupler has both safe and standard digital inputs and outputs. This device has six digital inputs and six digital outputs. There are two fail-safe inputs and two fail-safe outputs. The fault response time of the unit is less than or equal to the watchdog time. It utilizes the EtherCAT protocol and supports connection with one or two wires. The bus coupler is made of polycarbonate and polyamide (PA 6.6). The product has a compact design and is best suited for applications that have less number of inputs and outputs.

This coupler must always be installed in a horizontal position. The device has a protection rating of IP 20. The unit can be mounted on to a 35mm mounting rail that meets EN 60715 specifications and has a locking mechanism. It can be attached to the rail using a double slot and key connection. The solid wire conductors can be wired through direct plug-in technique while the stranded wire conductors and ferrules support wiring through spring actuation using a screwdriver. The solid wires, fine wires and wire end sleeves have connection cross-sections of 0.08 to 1.5 sq.mm, 0.25 to 1.5 sq.mm and 0.14 to 0.75 sq.mm respectively.

This product has a voltage rating of 24VDC. The unit has a size of 44 x 100 x 68mm and weighs nearly 123grams. The coupler adheres to DIN EN ISO 13849-1:2008 safety specifications. The TwinSAFE device supports the connection of multiple 24VDC switches and sensors such as emergency OFF pushbutton switches, light curtains, protective door switches with tumbler, servo drives and more. The test pulses must not cause actuator switching when actuators are selected. The status display features 16 LEDs. The device has a typical power loss of 1.8W without the connected actuators or sensors. The EtherCAT bus coupler comes with a one-year warranty and can be transported globally to the address of your choice.
