Product Description

Embedded PCs manufactured by Beckhoff are designed to handle a wide range of control tasks on the factory floor. The Beckhoff CX family of embedded computers has basic CPU modules utilizing different processors with varying processing power allowing Beckhoff CX series of embedded PCs to handle a wide range of control tasks. CX series embedded computers are designed to be used for tasks requiring the computing power of industrial computers but at a lower budget. With a modular design, these embedded computers can be configured to seamlessly interface with a wide array of tasks on the industry floor.

The Beckhoff CX8190 is an embedded PC for different Ethernet protocols. The controller supports EAP (EtherCAT Automation Protocol), real-time Ethernet, or ADS UDP/TCP protocols. By supporting programming using the TwinCAT 3 runtime environment, the CX8190 allows its memory, hardware access, and other system resources to be optimally used. The embedded computer includes a 512-megabyte MicroSD card for its flash memory which is expandable. To facilitate connection of external devices, the embedded PC has one RJ45 port with a speed rating of 10/100 megabits per second, and two RJ45 ports with a speed rating of 100 Megabits per second.

For optimal operation, the CX8190 requires a nominal operating voltage of 24 Volts DC with an allowance of -15 percent and +20 percent. To maintain the integrity of data, the embedded PC is fitted with an internal battery-backed clock to provide date and time. With a weight of approximately 230 grams, the CX8190 is ideal to be mounted on a DIN rail or in a control cabinet. The Beckhoff embedded PC conforms to international EMC immunity/emission, vibration and shock resistance directives.
