The CX8031 programmable PROFIBUS DP Slave controller can be used for different applications, like processing PLC programs or as slave device. In addition to this, the CX8031 provides and automatic baud-rate detection. In its basic version, the CX8031 controller has a 512 MB MicroSD card. In addition to this, the controller has an Ethernet Interface, E-bus or K-bus. The CX8031 controller has an Ethernet Connection, through which it’s programmed and configured, as well as PROFIBUS master interface on an RS485 basis, that has a D-sub connection. One notable thing about the CX8031 controller is that it has 3 virtual slaves, but only a single slave is used. The PROFIBUS address on this controller is configured through two rotary selection switches, and also automatically detects the type of I/O system connected to it during its start-up phase.
