The CX5140-0162 embedded PC belongs to the CX5140 series of compact and lightweight embedded PCs. The system boasts a quad-core Intel Atom processor that enables data processing at a very fast pace. Each of the four cores has a 1.91 GHz clock speed that allows for a lag-free operation. An added advantage with this PC is its low power consumption and a fanless design. The fanless design is feasible because heat dissipation requirements are very low. An Ethernet port is provided that is capable of transferring data at high speeds and is gigabit-capable. Because of the TwinCAT runtime software, the PC is very suitable for PLC and motion control applications. The CX5140-0162 can interpolate movements across multiple axes so motion control is possible across multiple axes simultaneously.

The CX5140-0162 operates on 24 VDC supply and has the dimensions of 142 mm x 100 mm x 92 mm (W x H x D). In addition to the Ethernet option, additional interface options include two RJ 45 inputs, two USB ports, and a DVI-I input. The device can be operated in a -25 ᵒC to 60 ᵒC temperature range and has a vibration/shock resistance that is in compliance with the EN standards. In addition to a 4GB RAM, a flash memory option can be utilized with the help of MicroSD and CFast cards. Lastly, a UPS is also provided for the uninterrupted operation of the PC.
