The CX5120-0122 is an embedded PC system produced by Beckhoff. The system uses the Intel Atom® E3815, 1.46 GHz single-core processor which greatly enhances its processing capability. The model has DIN rail mounting capabilities and can operate in a temperature range of -25 ᵒC to 60 ᵒC. At the I/O level, the IPC can use either Bus Terminals or EtherCAT Terminals. Because of EtherCAT, the IPC can use extensions for further master/slave Fieldbus connections (PROFIBUS, CANopen, DeviceNet, etc.) and communication interfaces (RS232, RS422/RS485) as well as all other signal types supported by EtherCAT can be directly connected as EtherCAT Terminals.

The CX5120-0122 comes with 2 GB DDR3 RAM storage for its main memory. Memory can be extended through the use of a CFast card or MicroSD card. To facilitate the end-user, this model comes with diagnostic lights for power,  TC status, flash access, and bus status. The dimensions of the model are 124 mm x 100 mm x 92 mm (W x H x D), it weighs approximately 860g,  and the standard operating system is Windows Embedded Standard 7 P. Overall, the CX5120-0122 is a very suitable industrial PC for a wide range range of motion control and PLC applications.
