The AX5140-0000-0202 is one of the single-channel digital compact servo drives from Beckhoff’s AX51xx series. It features an EtherCAT high-performance communication system that enables ideal interfacing with PC-based control technology. The built-in integrated control technology makes the device fast and highly dynamic in terms of positioning works. The AX5140-0000-0202 offers the AX-Bridge control that enables to form a multi-axis system by connecting it with several AX500 devices. Different types and sizes of motors can also be connected with it without any additional measures. This includes all the familiar types like synchronous, linear, torque, and asynchronous motors. The device also features SERCOS™ profile for servo drives and IP20 level protection class.

The AX5140-0000-0202 servo drive is designed to work under a wide range of current rates from 3 A to 40 A with a supply voltage of 3 x 100…480 V AC ±10 %. DC-link and breaking voltage energy management ensure the durability of the servo drive. The built-in multi-feedback interface makes the drive flexible to use with all common standards. This servo drive supports analog torque/ velocity/ position, pulse & direction, stored program, streaming commands, Fieldbus, and industrial Ethernet control.

The AX5140-0000-0202 servo drive offers a broad functionality in a compact model that is ideal for OEM and multi-axis applications. The compact design also makes the drive ideal for installation in a simple control cabinet (300 mm depth). The integration of EtherCAT technology enables very short cycle time, synchronicity, and simultaneity even after connecting the drive with a large number of devices. In addition to that, the integrated STO, SS1, and TwinSAFE safety functions enable the drive protection against the inadvertent restart of the drive axis.
