The 6410-001 is the generic part number name for the 6410 series of small drives created Pacific Scientific. 6410-001 is not the full part number for a drive in the 6410 series. This is the base part number for all part numbers within this series. However, there is some information pertaining to the model base number. The job of all 6410 drives is to convert all of the stepping and direction inputs they, the drives, receive into winding currents used by a motor. These motor winding currents then help control, commonly, a two phase step motor.

The 6410-001 is popular among many product and electrical engineers because of its small size. 6410 drives weigh approximately 1 and a half pounds and measure 8x8x3 inches. Common supply voltages for these drives vary greatly. The voltage limit does not exceed 75VDC or drop below 25VDC for normal operation. These motor are capable of being used with a standard or performance enhanced Danaher motion line. All drives within this series are CSA Standard for process and control equipment compliant, making them UL recognized.  Again, if you need a 6410-001, you might need a more specific part number within the 6410 series.
